So much for the claim that the Electoral Finance Act would stop ordinary people from participating in politics or making their voice heard. It doesn't in the slightest. The only people it affects are people trying to buy our democracy, and there it simply ensures transparency and a level playing field. As for the rest of us, provided you keep it online, or stick a promoter statement on stuff, and don't spend more than $12,000 or $1,000 targeting a specific candidate (ridiculously large amounts compared to ordinary people's incomes), then you can say whatever you like. And $12,000 buys you a hell of a lot of photocopying and sellotape...
