A landmark for the expansion of global justice

Mexico has ratified the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, becoming the hundreth country to do so. This is a landmark for the expansion of global justice, and made all the sweeter by the fact that it has come despite stiff opposition from the biggest proponent of impunity on the block - the US.

Which reminds me that I should really do some digging into whether the US has asked us for an Article 98 ("because we're the hegemon") exemption...
