Span is on hiatus. Tony has decided to go into hibernation for personal reasons. Posts from Jordan are few and far between, and even Frog has quietened down a lot. It's suddenly getting very lonely over here on the left...
OTOH, this is an opportunity for other good left-wing blogs to get noticed and build their readership. Anybody have any suggestions, or want to give it a go?
I think your blog is pretty good. I'd like to see some discussion about how we can restore democracy though. I think Pete Hodgson's recent statements on the dangers of the rich capturing the political process through election campaign funding is spot on and the law needs to be changed to keep the fat cats out.

ReplyDeleteIn case anyone is wondering, I have quit my blog (I have thrown it to the spammers), and I will be starting one in due course that will offer solutions, and not condemnation - bascially, its me growing out of the nastiness and contributing something to the debate. I have a few ideas about how I want things to be, and I wish to voice them.

Although I am surprised at the survival of many political blogs post-election (I had picked a mass die-off), the scene does seem to have lost a lot of vim and vigor.
There's space for a policy-wonk blog though. If I didn't have full-time study and work, I might consider something of that nature. Gotta put education to use somehow.

ReplyDeleteBy the by, how many political blogs doe we really need? It seems almost anyone and everyone fancies themself as a political know it all these days when in reality they all tend to regurgitate the same shit.
What I'd like to see is one of the Press gallery journo's start a blog ... something anonymous and sarky.
Then we could all sit back and wait and puit bets on how long it would take for them to be outed.
I guess I kinda qualify as being left, although I don't really qualify as being a NZ blog anymore :( But I am still discussing stuff from Aotearoa. But I've been quiet recently cause I've been moving to a new place! How was that for a subtle plug? (Please update your link I/S, chur)
