I'm confused ... is it the blog itself that has been nominated, or the published extracts? The BBC article seems to say the former in the headline, but the latter in the text.

Damn. It looks like its the book - which is basically a printout of her first year of blog posts, but its still dead trees.
And OTOH, its the same content.
