National Radio on Member's Bills

National Radio this morning had a piece on Member's Bills and the increased role they are playing in the House this term. According to Don Brash, National is aiming to have every MP have a bill in the ballot - and not just bills reflecting "some quirky personal interest", but ones pushing serious National Party policy. Meanwhile, Labour acknowledges that the tight numbers mean that they may not always be able to get their way, and that National could effectively legislate around them, despite not being in government.

It's going to be an interesting term, alright...

Anyway, I recommend listening in to the whole thing. There will also be a followup piece on Checkpoint tonight at about 6:40 or so, which you'll be able to listen to from here.
