Former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi has been indicted for fraud over allegations of embezzlement, tax fraud, false accounting and money laundering in TV rights deals at one of his TV companies. It couldn't happen to a nicer guy.
These offences allegedly happened between 1994 and 1999, and I'm wondering whether the laws he passed to lower the statute of limitations will result in him walking again.
Everybody loves Italy ... the food, the countryside, the climate, the fashion, the glitz, the history - so the turn a blind eye to the level of corruption and general dishonesty that goes on Italy’s transactions within and without the country. Despite being a founding member of the EU, they flaunt so many EU laws and regulations that they have signed up to.
ReplyDeleteTime for Italy and Italians to be held accountable for their actions rather than being considered the likable rogues. Berlusconi is a prime example.
Too many New Zealand lives were lost in Iatly for us to go on supporting this corrupt and still in parts facist inspired state.
