What America needs is a nationalist President. Someone like Pat Buchanan - Reform Party’s candidate in 2000, editor of The American Conservative, who could dis-engage from this self-defeating, doomed effort to put the Shah back in Iran and put an end to current U.S. policy which is based on sand and illusions - like the illusion that the racist state of Israel is sustainable and the illusion that "peace" treaties with tyrants in Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Jordan mean anything other than a slight delay to electoral politics in those places.
