Charged

Iraq's Interior Ministry has charged 57 members of the Iraqi police with torture for their involvement in death squads. This is unquestionably good news. Disappearances, torture and murder have been a running sore which has completely poisoned the new Iraq, and finally the government seems to be doing something about it.

Hopefully the accused will receive a fairer trial than Saddam Hussein.
