Well, that took a while. 5390 posts, plus tens of thousands of comments is enough to make even Google's mighty servers need some time to digest it all. But now it looks like No Right Turn has finally migrated to the new blogger platform.
Over the next few days I'll redo the layout and replace that slow "recent comments" hack with a shiny new RSS feed. Maybe I'll do some labels too. But I'm a bit busy at the moment with other projects, so please bear with me if I take a while to get around to it.
Good for you!
ReplyDeleteThe hack will be easy to replace, but I've found that the feed-based one isn't necessarily that speedy at picking up new comments, which is a bit of a pain. No doubt it will improve over time.
makes it a lot easier for some of us to post comments.
ReplyDeletewell done, and I am looking forward to a quicker load (although I use Adblock Plus to block a lot of the slow elements such as the Iraqi Body Count).
Can we have the recent comments back soon - they're among the things I look at first.
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately the RSS feed comments are not acceptable, but I've found some replacement javaScript, which whould run much faster than the old one.
ReplyDeleteUngh. It'll do, but barely. I still need to install the recent posts hack (as the archive list will get far too big over the course of a month), and do a lot of tidying up. if anyone knows how I can get my columns and header to stay all aligned and the proper heights and widths I'd be very pleased.
ReplyDeleteEventually I'll do labels and replace the "themes" page with a label list (or maybe just a short excerpt). But for the moment, it'll do.
Here's just to see if I can comment again.
ReplyDeleteIf it works, well, sorry in advance.
Tussock: Yes, it works - but it may take a while for the comment to show up in the recent list, due to the way Blogger's feeds work.
ReplyDeleteUgh! Having just seen the new template under IE, I think I'll be trying to make some changes...
