Something to go to in Auckland

Next Tuesday is the fourth anniversary of the US invasion of Iraq, and so this Saturday people around the world will be protesting against the continuing occupation and against a US attack on Iran. Global Peace and Justice Auckland is contributing to this effort, and have organised a demonstration for New Zealanders who oppose the war.

When: Saturday, 17 March, 12:00 noon
Where: Aotea Square

If you know of other events around the country, please post them in the comments.

  3. Is there a march happening anywhere in support of the troops? I'd like to support the brave boys and girls fighting for freedom.

  4. Anonymous, if your really want to support the troops why not be brave yourself.

Sign up for the army, learn to use a gun, then go over there and fight alongside them.

  7. Sadly it's not feasible to have a march supporting the troops and doesn't support the war.

There's a popular school of thought that the best thing to do for the troops (and perhaps everyone else) is to bring them home where nobody's trying to kill them.

  8. Sorry, Garry, I can't go and fight alongside the honourable soldiers who are willing to leave their jobs and families for many months at a time to fight for our freedom in an inhospitable desert full of strange men in tea towels. I'm flat footed. :-(
