Blog holiday

I'm in Wellington tomorrow visiting the National Archives, so there will be no bloggage. Wednesday being a public holiday, there probably won't be anything then either (unless I get bored or someone does something exceptionally stupid). Normal service will resume Thursday - just in time for the end of the week.

Fortunately Parliament will be back next week, so I'll have stuff to blog about.

  1. Hope you have a dandy time.

And I must say, for someone who was worried they'd have nothing to post about during the recess, this is your 49th post since the one where you expressed that worry, only a fortnight ago...

    :-)

  2. "someone does something exceptionally stupid"

    As Einstein once said

Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I'm not sure about the universe.

  3. Lyndon: while that wasn't why I was in Wellington, I did make it to the press conferance, and I am very pleased.

  4. Here's a nice ANZAC day juxtaposition:

Prime Minister Helen Clark has come under fire for deciding not to attend an Anzac Day dawn service today.

National Party deputy leader Bill English said he thought New Zealanders would be appalled that she wouldn't go "just because she couldn't get out of bed".

"I think it is a hangover from her [Vietnam] War protest days."

Prime Minister Helen Clark has been accused of politicising Anzac Day by announcing plans for a memorial park on its eve.

National veterans affairs spokeswoman Judith Collins supported the park, but said Miss Clark had breached a long-standing convention against political statements relating to Anzac Day.
