Freed

Recently I watched part 2 of the PBS documentary Frontline: News War on the erosion of media freedom in the US. One of those featured was Josh Wolf, a Californian videoblogger and journalist jailed for refusing to turn over his raw footage of a 2005 protest to federal authorities. Wolf's case raised troubling questions about the government's attempts to co-opt the media as spies, and also about the extension of federal power into state jurisdictions.

Now, after 226 days in jail, Wolf has finally been freed. Meanwhile the video footage which caused all the fuss can be seen on his blog here.
