The Law and Order Committee has called for submissions on the Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Bill. Two copies, by Wednesday, 16 May 2007, to
Law and Order Committee
Parliament Buildings
Wellington
This is an important bill with a significant impact on civil liberties. If you want to ensure that we do not have Ahmed Zaoui standards of evidence and repeated persecution of the acquitted in our justice system, then you need to speak up now. Making a submission is not complicated - it can be as simple as writing a letter saying "I support/oppose this bill" and stating the reasons why. If you need help, check out my previous submissions or the Clerk's online guide [PDF].
