The Representation Commission has released its proposed electorate boundaries for the 2008 election. There's a significant shakeup in South Auckland, with a new electorate in Howick pushing the boundaries around, the boundaries in the South Island continue their relentless march north, and Peter Dunne loses part of Belmont to Rimutaka. There's an online map here for those who want to play.
The proposed boundaries are now open for public comment until June 5. If you'd like to object, there's a guide and form in the media pack here.
Palmerston North BTW loses Linton and Tokomaru and gains Milson and Kelvin Grove (hatchetland). Which is a closer map to actual communities, but likely entrenches the incumbent parties in each seat.
