The people of Timor-Leste went to the polls on Saturday in Parliamentary elections. There's no results as yet, but it is expected to be a close contest between the ruling Fretilin party and the anti-Fretilin coalition which we saw during the Presidential elections. But whichever group dominates is likely to be forced into coalition thanks to Timor's proportional representation system. And that in itself will be a significant shift, given the utter dominance of Fretilin in elections to the 2001 constituent assembly.
I'll post more results as they come in. But currently, with only 10% of the vote counted, its a bit too early to tell.
