Social Services Committee SecretariatThe bill would broaden the scope for objection to liquor licences, require applicants to file social impact reports, and essentially make the question of whether a licence is granted a political rather than procedural one - inviting corruption, favouring larger applicants over smaller ones, and generally turning back the clock on two decades of progress towards a more mature drinking culture.
