Urgency for the ETS

That was a surprise - the government has just moved urgency for the third reading of the ETS, Public Transport Management Bill, and Corrections (Mothers With Babies) Amendment Bill to allow them to be passed before the recess. So not only do the Greens get their bill adopted - they get it passed under urgency.

Given the limited scope of the urgency motion, the idea seems to be to just make parliament work tomorrow morning, and have Thursday as normal. But if National fillibusters, Wednesday eats Thursday, and they lose Question Time. That should give them an incentive to play nice.

Thanks to delays with the Waste Minimisation Bill, the ETS will now pass at 21:00.
