Drawn

A ballot for a single member's bill was held today, and the following bill was drawn:

  • Electoral (Disqualification of Convicted Prisoners) Amendment Bill (Paul Quinn).
The bill has not been covered in "In the ballot", but judging from its title, its bad news. I wonder if the Attorney-general is frantically working on a BORA report on it now?

There were 5 new bills in the ballot today, covering topics such as the minimum wage, 90-day probationary period repeal, repealing the ETS, forestry, and entrenching the Māori seats (the last forcing a pre-ballot, as Mita Ririnui already has a bill to do that). I'll bring you some of the new bills in an "In the ballot" post later today.

The full list of bills is on Red Alert here.
