Last week, we learned that National had managed to widen the income gap with Australia while purporting to close it. But it seems that's not the only gap they've widened. According to today's Quarterly Employment Survey, the gender-pay gap, which just a couple of months ago the government was crowing about shrinking, has blown out to 12.81%.
That's what a National government means: more inequality. More inequality between rich and poor, more inequality between Pakeha and Maori, and more inequality between men and women. This isn't just bad for people on the receiving end; inequality is bad for all of us. And National increasing it shows they are the wrong people to govern New Zealand.
