Thailand's monarchy claims a victim

In August 2010, Thai truck driver Amphon Tangnoppakul was accused of sending text messages to a government official insulting that country's queen. He was put on trial for lese majeste, convicted, and sentenced to 20 years imprisonment.

Today, he died in jail.

That's the cost of lese majeste laws: dead people. And if anyone thinks that protecting someone's "dignity" is worth a single human life, then they are simply monsters.
