A guilty conscience

Back in August, when Kim Dotcom was appearing in court, the police let slip that they had prepared a "PR and media plan" before the raid. Someone was curious about this, and used FYI, the public OIA request site, to request a copy. you can read it here.

Much of the document has been redacted on the grounds of "free and frank advice" - which looks rather dubious in the case of the number of people arrested. But the FAQ at the end includes a question (and non-answer) for "Why were they all in the Auckland area and how did you know?" It seems that even at the time of arrest, police had a guilty conscience about how they had learned Dotcom's whereabouts, and expected to be questioned about it.
