The Commerce Committee has invited former Solid Energy CEO Don Elder to appear to answer questions about the collapse of the company. Good. This prick seems to have scammed us for $10 million while running a public asset into the ground, and we deserve some answers about it. Its also nice to see National backing accountability for a change, rather than impeding the process to prevent it.
Of course, Elder could refuse the invitation. But if he does, I think the next step will be a subpoena. Hopefully he'll decide to keep things civilised instead.
