After a one-week delay due to government urgency last week, today is finally a Member's Day. The first and most contentious issue is Te Ururoa Flavell's Gambling (Gambling Harm Reduction) Amendment Bill, which will face its third reading today. The bill has been gutted in committee and now loosens rather than tightens restrictions on pokies. Its useless sponsor is likely to be held to account for that today.
After that, we have the second reading of Jacqui Dean's Conservation (Natural Heritage Protection) Bill, which should be uncontroversial, followed by the final demise of Moana Mackey's Electricity (Renewable Preference) Amendment Bill (but it'll be back next year, I think). If the House moves quickly, it should make a start on Cam Calder's Summary Offences (Possession of Hand-held Lasers) Amendment Bill. There will be no ballot tomorrow.
