Today is a member's day, the first of the new term. Unfortunately the Prime Minister has chosen to steal half of it with a Ministerial statement on terrorism followed by a two-hour debate. Which means that member's business is unlikely to start until after the dinner break.
As for that business, we're likely to see the demise of Sue Moroney's Parental Leave and Employment Protection (Six Months' Paid Leave) Amendment Bill, which lost its majority during the election. We should also see the second reading of Pita Paraone's Sentencing (Protection of Children from Criminal Offending) Amendment Bill, and maybe if we're lucky make a start of Kennedy Graham's Register of Pecuniary Interests of Judges Bill. The Order Paper is clogged, so there's unlikely to be a ballot for some time.
