Mirrormask

why didn't anybody tell me that Neil Gaiman (or rather, Dave McKean) had a movie out?

Fortunately, I managed to catch it in Melbourne. And yes, it was good. The best way of describing it would be a more modern version of Labyrinth or Alice in Wonderland - a girl wakes up in a strange world and has to find her way out. However, there are however fewer muppets, and no sign of David Bowie (though there is some glass globe juggling). And of course it is visually stunning, as you'd expect from McKean. Well worth seeing if you get the chance.

(Trailers here if you want a glimpse...)
