Parliament has only just opened, and we may already be about to find our how far the House has swung to the conservatives: Larry Baldock's Marriage (Gender Clarification) Amendment Bill is back on the Order Paper, having apparantly been rescued from oblivion by Gordon Copeland. The bill would not just define marriage as exclusively heterosexual - it would also license discrimination in the name of encouraging marriage. Meaning that it would once again be legal for landlords and employers to impose their peculiar prejudices upon others.
If you are concerned about this, I suggest you contact your local MP and encourage them to vote against it, or at the minimum vote to amend it to remove this attempt to return us to the dark ages.
