Sedition pledge update

I think its fair to say that the sedition pledge has been a success. 47 people have signed up so far, in just under a week. It would be nice if we could make it to 50.

Now all we have to do is write the letters. I've done mine, working on the "sedition is a danger to our democracy" angle. Other possible approaches would be to stress the importance of freedom of speech, or to recount some of the abuses under the law, or to argue that recent cases show the Police are misusing it and that it has fallen into absurdity. But the important thing is to get it written and sent off - show the government that there is public demand for repeal.

good work idiot/Savant and all signers. Looking at the list of people who have signed, they come from across the political spectrum. Hope the sedition laws soon.

Freedom of speech is something we all agree on - and a damn good thing too.

sedition needs to be removed as it severely restricts the liberty to freedom of speech and protest. I look back at Timothy Selwyn, seems like an excuse to incorporate maybe something worse to amend if not removed like the patriot act. Now that would be very bad!
