Former Green MP Mike Ward has stepped aside, allowing Nandor Tanczos to resign in favour of Green co-leader Russel Norman. It's a good move for the party, allowing Norman to get some Parliamentary experience and build his profile ahead of the election. But it will also be a shame to see Nandor go.
The question now is what will happen to Nandor's Waste Minimisation Bill. While its currently waiting for its second reading, it has no real chance of passing before the election. It will presumably be taken over by another Green MP, but if the government wants to see it become law, they will need to adopt it themselves, rather than leaving it to languish in the Member's section of the Order Paper. Though fortunately they have plenty of time before they have to make that decision.
