On time served Hamdan could be released in five months but the Pentagon has said he will still be retained as an "enemy combatant".So, despite having a "trial", they intend to detain him indefinitely regardless. Which makes you wonder why they even bothered with a "trial" at all...The US has always argued it can detain such people indefinitely, as long as its so-called war on terror continues.
