A secret whitewash

UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown has finally bowed to years of pressure and announced an independent inquiry into the Iraq war. But there are two catches: firstly, the inquiry will be focused on "lessons learned" rather than holding those who lied the UK into an illegal war of aggression to account. And secondly, it will be held entirely in secret - "for reasons of national security", of course. So, not just a whitewash, but a secret whitewash. And the UK government wonders why people have no faith in it...
