Submit!

The Transport and Industrial Relations Committee is seeking submissions on the Employment Relations Amendment Bill (No 2). Two copies, by Monday, 13 September 2010, to:

Transport and Industrial Relations Committee Secretariat
Parliament Buildings
Wellington
Or you can make an online submission here. If you don't know how to submit, there's a a handy guide here [PDF].

This is an important bill which makes a number of changes to employment relations law, including denying due process to employees from their employers, restricting union access to workplaces, and imposing a 90-day fire at will period on all new employees. This affects you. Even if you are secure in your employment now, one day you'll change jobs, and then you'll have to tug your forelock like a good little peasant, put up with the boss's racism and sexual harassment, smile and pretend to like it, or you'll be dismissed with no rights at all. So, please submit, and make your opposition to this law plain.
