Two weeks ago, John Key told us that the money from his privatization programme would be funneled into schools and hospitals. Now, he says its going to go to help farmers by funding their irrigation schemes. This is even madder than his original plan; at least there we'd be getting public infrastructure which would benefit the many. Here, we're getting private infrastructure for the profit of the few, with a side helping of dirty rivers into the bargain.
But then, isn't that what National is all about? Stealing from the many to give to the few. Their privatisation scheme is just more of the same.
