Horrifying

A comment on Pundit's post on the police and trust pointed to this horrifying story of police abuse: a senior police officer tried to perform an illegal traffic stop, then when the victim correctly queried its legality and left, followed them home, trespassed on their property, and severely assaulted them, leaving them with life-long injuries. Oh, and then charged him with assault - a charge which was eventually thrown out of court. But the worst bit?

Greatorex has never been charged and still works as a senior-ranking police officer in Christchurch.

When the police won't hold their own to account when they so flagrantly violate the law and attack innocent members of the public, then they cannot expect to receive our trust.

(Thugs like Greatorex BTW are the best argument against an armed police force: because if he'd had a gun, his victim would probably have been dead)
