27,000 unemployed under National

The Labour Market Statistics were released today, showing that unemployment has dropped below 5% for only the third time in National's nine long years in office. But there are still 132,000 unemployed - 27,000 more than when they took office.

This is the core failure of the National government: they simply don't consider unemployment a policy priority, but instead leave it to the market. And even at their most successful, they're still far worse than Labour ever was. Clearly, if we want better policy, we need to elect a better government.
