Nay Phone Latt is a Burmese blogger. During last year's protests against the military regime, he helped get the news out to the world and inform Burmese citizens of what was happening in their own country. But on January 29, he was disappeared from the internet cafe he owned and operated, and has now been charged under s5 (j) Burma's draconian Emergency Provision Act, which outlaws
affect[ing] the morality or conduct of the public or a group of people in a way that would undermine the security of the Union or the restoration of law and order; If convicted of this rather vague "crime", he faces at least seven years imprisonment.
If you'd like to protest about this, you can email the Burmese representative to New Zealand (who sadly lives in Australia) here.
