Projection

Projection - deflecting attention from your own flaws and negative traits by accusing your opponent of them - is one of the oldest propaganda tactics in the book. It is also (sadly) one of the most successful. Which is why today we were treated to the unedifying sight of Hollow Man John Key - a man not exactly known for his policy substance, and whose own effort was full of "we will" with absolutely no details on the "how" - calling the Prime Minister's speech "vacuous"...
