Not content with emitting vast quantities of greenhouse gases and polluting our rivers and streams, our dairy farmers are now contributing to tropical deforestation and the extinction of our the orang-utan through their demand for unsustainably harvested palm kernels as supplementary feed.
I wonder what European consumers will think of this? By pursuing unsustainable practices, the dairy industry isn't just killing the planet - they're exposing themselves to colossal risk of a consumer backlash in one of their most valuable markets. Wouldn't it be better to clean up their act to manage that risk? Or will we have to wait until the ads start appearing in the European media...?
