Hager on politics and journalism

Last night, Nicky Hager gave his Bruce Jesson lecture on "Investigative journalism in the age of media meltdown: from National Party Headquarters to Afghanistan". Despite the title, most of it is devoted to the great myths of New Zealand politics; it is only in the last third or so when he talks about investigative journalism as a tool to destroy those myths and give New Zealand back to its people. Its an interesting read, and well worth your five minutes.
