President Bush is seeking an additional US$600 million in aid for countries hit by the boxing-day tsunami, to bring the total to US$950 million. While a substantial amount, this will still leave the US in the bottom half of both the per-capita and by GDP aid tables. Still, Bush deserves a lot of credit for this.
