Today's horrible thought

Doctors successfully removed a second head from a 10-month old baby. The head was basically part of an underdeveloped conjoined twin, and was (according to one doctor) "capable of smiling and blinking - but not of independent life".

The horrifying thought is that there was someone in there, unable to move or talk, trapped in a dangling skull...

The Fortean Times had a recent article on other cases of "parasitic head" that takes a similar stance, you might be interested in it:

Indeed,
and that they executed that person (via choping his head off from his body) in the interests of giving the other child a normal life.

Ooooer, shudder.

I have no idea on how you deal with that under a Catholic morality.

Let me say again...

Ooooer.

Although I would point out that the horror you exclaim over existing like that is based on your experiencing not being like that. If you had only ever been "a head" it might be an ok existance, and one you would want to keep, rather than being killed. I dunno.

I say again... Ooooer.
