Suing for rendition

The ACLU is suing the CIA on behalf of Khaled Masri, the German man rendered from Macedonia because he had a suspicious name. Suit has been filed in federal court in Alexandria, Virginia (near Langley) against former CIA director George Tenet and other officials, alleging that the CIA violated al-Masri's rights and that he suffered "prolonged arbitrary detention, torture and other cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment" as a result. Unfortunately, this is only a civil case, aimed at gaining compensation and an apology rather than putting the guilty parties behind bars, but its a start.

The ACLU has more information on the case here.
