17,000 employed under Labour

The labour market statistics have been released, and unemployment has dropped again to 3.9%, the lowest level in 11 years. There are currently 109,000 people looking for work - 17,000 fewer than when Labour took office.

This drop in unemployment has been combined with workers getting their biggest payrises in a decade, thanks to a big increase in the minimum wage and several large government settlements. We're also seeing unions able to effectively fight for workers' rights and win. And the longer it continues, the better.
