Oppose National's support for whaling

Over the weekend, National reversed a long-standing plank of New Zealand foreign policy and came out in support of commercial whaling. Their spinners are trying to pitch this as "realism", but it is nothing but abject surrender in an effort to smooth things over in the hope of a trade deal. The move speaks volumes about National's priorities, which once again put the interests of the wealthy few above those of the vast majority of New Zealanders who are opposed to any whaling.

Labour has come out strongly against the move, and have just launched an online petition calling on John Key and Murray McCully to properly represent New Zealanders and oppose commercial whaling. You can sign it here.
