Peceli Rinakama is a former Fijian MP. During the 2000 coup, he was sworn in as one of George Speight's illegal Cabinet. After the coup, he was prosecuted for swearing an illegal oath and jailed for three years. He was freed for good behaviour in 2005. In 2007, he was accused by the current military regime of conspiring to assassinate dictator Voreqe Bainimarama, but the charges were withdrawn.

Last Friday, he was abducted by soldiers. He has not been seen since, and his family have not been informed of his whereabouts.

Update 12/03/2010: The regime has admitted that Rinakama is in custody, though they won't say where or what for.
