Habemus government

Or at least, we will at 5pm.

And the Maori Party have categorically ruled out supporting National, and said they will most likely give Labour confidence and supply while avoiding formal coalition.

Eat that, Don Brash.

Winston Peters, Minister of Race Relations. I mean... Racing. Nearly had a heart attack.

I guess that means he can go to lots of race tracks and have a drink of two?

A very interesting political situation for the left...

Gosh - Labour in bed with the most intolerant old school tory MP in NZ and you are more excited about the Maori Party and Don Brash?

Aaron - Idiot posted before Idiot knew what the shape of the Government was.

Obviously, we now know the Maori Party have been cut out of any deal. Interesting that they made this a press release - I suspect its a move of panic, as they realised they were on the wrong side, with no results they had to pull out something.

The Maori Party is in opposition.

For a new party this is good thing, I think.
