Timor-Leste votes (again)

The people of East Timor are voting today in the second round of their presidential election, which pits Fretilin's Francisco Guterres against anti-Fretilin candidate José Ramos Horta. Given the results of the first round, in which anti-Fretilin candidates captured 60% of the vote, it seems Ramos Horta will win easily, but we won't know until the ballots are counted. We should have preliminary results sometime on Friday.

Fretilin are complaining that their election activists have faced daily harrassment from Anzac forces:
The incursion of armed troops into Fretilin rallies and the buzzing of these rallies with choppers follows an earlier 'holdup' of a Fretilin election convoy by Anzac troops waving guns:

This blog should support the campaign against the Anzac occupations in Afghanistan, the Solomons and East Timor.
