Equality is still 50 years away

The New Zealand Income Survey was released today, showing that the gender-pay gap in median hourly earnings had narrowed slightly from 10.1 to 9.9%. Which is progress, particularly given that we went backwards last year - but at this rate, equality is still 50 years away. Which simply isn't good enough.

Women shouldn't have to wait 50 more years for equal pay. Our government needs to do something. Sadly, I think its low on their priority list.
