United Future and climate change

I've been playing phone tag for the last day with United Future, trying to get some comment out of them on National's abrubt about-face on climate change and their support for a limited emissions trading regime. Unfortunately, United Future doesn't have anything to say yet. However, they are putting together "a comprehensive response" which will be out in a couple of days. Watch this space, I guess.

Meanwhile, the government's reaction to National's new desire to reduce emissions may become clearer in Question Time today:

NANDOR TANCZOS to the Minister responsible for Climate Change Issues: Does he stand by his statement that “There is a growing sense of urgency among governments … that action needs to be taken now” on climate change; if so, why won’t the Government consider putting in place price-based measures across the economy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions before 2012?

It will be interesting to see what their answer will be.

I think it will be along the lines of "ha ha you've got silly hair". Or something equally adult.

No, Peter Dunne has silly hair.

Good story, I/S. Hopefully the evil MSM won't swipe it uncredited this time.

Russell: If a real journalist reads this, and decides to ask Peter Dunne some questions, then I'm all for it. And its not as if I'm adding any original content on the matter yet.
