More cartoons

A couple more cartoons from my anonymous source:

Idiot, here's a question for you.

If Don Brash was such the demon that you claim him to be during the 1990s, why is it that Michael Cullen REAPPOINTED him as Reserve Bank Governor?

IP: Because the Governor of the Reserve Bank is not appointed on the whim of the Minister, but by the Minister on the recommendation of the Board. If the Board recommended that Brash stay (or rather, did not recommend that he go, and they would need a very good reason for that), then it would be unthinkable not to reappoint him.

Though I also find your subtext that it is acceptable to fire public servants (or even other public sector employees like the GOTRB) because they do not share the ideology of the government of the day to be quite alarming.

The link between Brash and the 90's is that he continues to adhere to Revolutionary neo-liberal views, and shows every sign of wanting to go back there. I don't think that's an experience New Zealanders are keen to repeat.

Maybe Michael Cullen is also a demon?
