An inhuman decision

Israel's Supreme Court has upheld Israel's controversial Citizenship and Entry into Israel Law, which denies Palestinians any chance of gaining Israeli residency or citizenship. This is a simply inhuman decision. The purpose (and effect) of the law has been to force Israeli citizens who marry Palestinians to either leave the country or live apart - even where they have been happily living in Israel for a decade or more. It has seperated husbands from their wives, and parents from their children. And while the justification is supposedly "security", as this Amnesty International report shows, the true reason seems to be demographic - that is, concerned with managing the racial makeup of the inhabitants of Israel. And I'd have thought that Israelis, of all people, would know what that sort of thinking leads to...
